New Stereo Image book
I thought I would pass this on as it seems to contribute to our want of mid-19th century civilian material culture. While it is not the US, it does provide a unique glimpse into 1850's village life in Great Britain and in stereo.
I had a opportunity to see the book last week thanks to a friend who taught Brian May the wet-plate collodion photography process in London two weeks ago (it's due for release in the US in early 2010). The book comes with a stereo viewer to allow the reader to view the original stereo images as they we're intended. http://www.brianmay.com/brian/mags&p...vol30_no1.html

Mr. Harrington,
Wow! I have not been to the forum lately, and to see this is so exciting. Thank you for sharing. The images are wonderful! Sincerely, Mrs. McNamara "Hardtack Baker" |

Re: New Stereo Image book
Wonderful images (I must repost this link in Books and Writers) and a thought...seriously, is there anything Brian May cannot do well?

Re: New Stereo Image book
Well as a postscript. Brian has asked my friends to come back next summer and reprise the original images using the original stereo camera (Brian owns it) used to to make the series. Naturally I told my friends; "You know....if you need an unpaid minion....."
