Thanks Luke. I did not know that had changed. I told Paul, that's what I get for the self-imposed hiatus!

Re: Black List of No Pays

fellas,

Some of you may recall that we implemented this very thing once upon a time. We were quickly threatened with lawsuits and dropped the concept.

We are aware of the particular impetus of this thread and are looking into it.

Re: Black List of No Pays

A couple things I'd do is keep ALL documentation pertaining to the transaction. The second thing is to make payment using a U.S. POSTAL SERVICE money order. That way if you get burned you can then contact the seller and let them know you will be calling the U.S. POSTAL INSPECTORS to report them for mail fraud. It is a felony punishable by up to five (5) years in prison and or fines up to $250,000 when involving an individual. If this does not get their attention I'm sure a phone call or visit from an inspector will. ~Gary

If you sent a check or money order through the mail I would report it to the Postal Service. If you did it via Paypal (don't use it and won't) I'm not sure what avenue to take on that one. It might cost more than what you're owed to hire a lawyer or investigator. Good luck. ~Gary

Re: Black List of No Pays

I went through the same thing a couple of years ago over a musket deal. It took 4 months and the threat of a postal fraud investigation to get my money back.
I sent the guy a registered letter telling him that if I did not hear from him within a week of the letter being recieved I would proceed with the postal fraud charges and that I would contact his local law enforcment agency. Shortly after that I got a money order in the mail.

This is why I prefer paypal. You can dispute payment and paypal gives you a set amount of time to settle the dispute between the two of you. If you do not, they take the money back on their own and then charges can be filed.

Re: Black List of No Pays

I suppose regional vigilante groups could be formed whose mission would be to find and beat the crap out of individuals that stiff others on the forum.

Re: Black List of No Pays

Legal issues are real- Dating a lawyer I have learned many new things- and listing someone publically sets you up to be sued for liable.

Sorry folks, but it could sink the AC.

Re: Black List of No Pays

What about modifying Mike's idea a bit, and forming regional vigilante groups whose mission would be to find and beat the crap out of lawyers?

Just a thought.
