College Hill Arsenal is proud to present our annual FREEDOM IS NOT FREE Civil War bayonet sale as a special Authentic Campaigner Bully Buy for the month of July. This special sale is aimed at the authentic enacting community and will allow many of you to add an original bayonet to your kit at a very reasonable price. As a part of the Bully Buy, you will receive a preferred customer discount on the bayonet from the standard website retail price (between 10% and 15%, as listed with each bayonet below) and I will cover the cost of shipping you the bayonet via USPS Priority Mail with insurance and delivery confirmation (a $10.00 value). Below you will find a list of available bayonets with a brief description, the normal web price, and the discounted Bully Buy price. After the list there is additional information about the sale, terms of payment, etc. Thanks in advance for your support over these past five years as College Hill Arsenal has grown from a hobby business to a business that is threatening to become a full time endeavor! I’ll try to get some more bayonets posted as I have time, as well as some pictures other than the one big shot of the current lot….
BAYONET LISTING
Unless otherwise noted, all bayonets are full length and have complete, functional, original locking rings.
US M-1855/70 .58 Caliber Socket Bayonets: (I don’t own a reproduction 1861, so all I can do is tell you how close it comes to fitting my Euroarms Enfield….)
EWB-1366-B VG+ to Fine bayonet with deep, clear US mark. Light mottled age staining and rack number “11” on socket. Does not seat all the way down on my old Euroarms Enfield. Retail Price: $170.00 / Bully Buy Price: $150.00.
EWB-1366-C Fine bayonet with great US mark. Very nice blade with light scattered staining and minor peppering. The socket is large enough to fit my Euroarms Enfield, but the bridge would not clear the front site. A file can fix that. List Price: $185.00 / Bully Buy Price: $160.00.
EWB-1307-E A mid grade bayonet with a brown age patina. A light, large US mark, with punch dot proof on the blade. The socket fit about 80% of the way on the Euroarms Enfield. A bargain bayonet that you won’t feel bad doing a little filing on and cleaning with some steel wool. List Price: $150.00 / Bully Buy Price: $125.00.
EWB-1366-J A Very Good+ bayonet with a medium pewter color and some scattered light age staining. A deep, clear US on the blade, as well as the rack number “39” over-stamped on the blade and a small “J” inspectors mark. This one fit on my Euroarms Enfield perfectly, so it is a good bet to fit other reproductions. List Price: $175.00 / Bully Buy Price: $155.00.
EWB-1366-G A mid grade bayonet, lightly cleaned, with a light U but strong S. Scattered light pitting on socket and one area of roughness on shoulder / edge of blade, otherwise a decent, gun metal color with some scattered age staining. It fits about 80% of the way on my Enfield. List Price: $155.00 / Bully Buy Price: $135.00.
EWB-1366-A A mid grade bayonet with a darker gray color and scattered peppering throughout. The socket shows lots of light scattered pitting. The locking ring is an original, but a replacement to the bayonet. It fits my Enfield about 80% of the way. List Price: $139.00 / Bully Buy Price: $125.00.
EWB-1307-L A mid grade bayonet, with a medium brown patina and some light scattered roughness on the socket. The blade is medium gray with some splotchy age staining. The U is nor visible and the S is light. This one fit on my Euroarms Enfield perfectly, so it is a good bet to fit other reproductions. List Price: $159.00 / Bully Buy Price: $135.00.
US M-1835/40 .69 Caliber Socket Bayonets: (this is the bayonet for an M-1835/40 or M-1842 musket with the original sharp shoulders like the earlier M-1816/22 socket bayonets):
EWB-1356 A Very Good + to Fine bayonet, medium gun metal gray color with scattered age staining that would likely clean to fine or better with a little effort. Deep, small US on blade, as well as an additional large B and M 1. This one fits my Armisport M-1842 perfectly. List Price: $189.00 / Bully Buy Price: $165.00.
EWB-1368 A Very Good bayonet with some light scattered pitting on the socket and some peppering along the blade. A slightly darker gray color than the one above, with more age staining that should clean up a if desired. This one fits my Armisport M-1842, but would need a touch of work with a file on the bayonet stud to allow the locking ring to close completely. List Price: $179.00 / Bully Buy Price: $155.00.
EWB-1346 A Very Good bayonet with dark splotchy age mottling over a smooth gun metal gray surface. Some very light scattered peppering. Very Good US mark with rare and “crossed arrows” mark beneath it. This one would be a good collector piece, as the mark is rather rare and always costs a substantial premium. This one fits my Armisport M-1842, but the locking ring only closes about 70%, again a little filing on the bayonet stud should fix that. Retail Price: $225.00 / Bully Buy Price: $190.00.
US M-1842 .69 Caliber Socket Bayonets: (this is the bayonet for a M-1842 with the 1855 style blade with the sloped shoulders, issued as a replacement bayonet during the Civil War):
EWB-1339 A near mint M-1842 with fine, deep US and a bright blade and socket. Absolutely stunning. This one is listed on the web site for pictures. This one fits my Armisport M-1842 perfectly. List price: $295.00 / Bully Buy Price: $250.00
Pattern 1853 Enfield Socket Bayonets:
EWB-1373-D A smooth brown Enfield bayonet, with contractor mark “GP” on blade. No “Broad Arrows” or British military marks. It fits my Euroarms Enfield perfectly. List Price: $149.00 / Bully Buy Price: $130.00.
EWB-1373-B A Very Good bayonet with a plum brown patina mixed with thin blue on the socket and nice smooth medium gray blade with some light staining. The blade is marked with a small “WJ” makers mark and an odd symbol. No Brit military marks. It fits my Euroarms Enfield perfectly. List Price: $169.00 / Bully Buy Price: $150.00. ON HOLD for Ronnie
EWB-1373-A A very nice collectors bayonet, with a deep chocolate brown socket and a dark gray blade. The blade is clearly stamped: F PRESTON / MANCHESTER, just like the example in Reilly’s book. This is THE classic imported CW Enfield bayonet. The mark commands a significant premium from most dealers. It fits my Euroarms Enfield perfectly. List Price: $189.00 / Bully Buy Price: $165.00.
EWB-1373-C A mid grade, mostly brown bayonet with a clear “PD” makers mark- could be of German contract origin. It only fits on my Euroarms about 80% of the way. List Price: $149.00 / Bully Buy Price: $130.00.
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
#1: Will it fit? This is always a dicey question with an original bayonet and a reproduction gun. When possible, I will list in the description if the bayonet in question fits one of the reproductions that I own. This does not mean that it will fit yours! The manufacturing variances in Italy seem to be even more extreme than the variances at the National Armories during the pre-interchangeable parts era. That said, I will do everything that I can to make sure you get a bayonet that fits, but I can not guarantee it. What would be helpful would be for you to send me the following dimensions (taken with a digital caliper) to give us the greatest chance of finding one to fit your gun:
Dimension #1: Diameter of the barrel at the muzzle.
Dimension #2: Width of the bayonet stud.
Dimension #3: Length (front to rear) of the bayonet stud.
This will help me to rule out bayonets that WILL NOT fit, but does not insure that what I send you will, as the barrel taper and the interior taper of the socket may not work out. If you get a bayonet that does not fit, you may return it for another one, but you must return it at your expense.
#2: How To Purchase: Simply send me an e-mail at: tim@collegehillarsenal.com to reserve the bayonet that you wish to purchase. It would be a good idea to send those dimensions if you have them, so we can make sure we have a fighting chance of getting one that will fit your gun. If multiple people try to purchase the same item, it will be first come, first served, based on when I received the e-mail, as to who gets the bayonet. If for some reason the sale on that one falls through, then I will contact #2 on the list, etc. After you have reserved the bayonet, you have 7 days to get the payment to me. You may mail payment (checks, money orders) to:

I know this seems like a lot of stuff, but it’s not like ordering a canteen, these are items that you really want to have fit your gun!
