  • Announcement: TMDCO Important Announcemt & Update

    Attention!!! Attention!!!

    As of August 1st 2009
    Trans-Mississippi Depot Company
    will be operating on an
    IN STOCK ONLY basis.

After 15 years in business. Due to the present economy, low sales, & the rising prices of parts and materiel. We have had to make the very hard decision that as of August 1st 2009 to stop taking on new orders permanently.

As of Aug 1st we will no longer be taking on any new catalogue or custom orders.

The only items available for sale after Aug 1st 2009 will be those listed as” In Stock”. Please check back often to see what we have for sale! We look forward to serving you in this new capacity.

PLEASE NOTE! This means that I will be working part time! If you already have an order in with us, I am dedicated to filling your order as soon as I can, with all the attention to detail your item deserves. I appreciate your patience during this time of transition.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. We thank you for your patronage for the past 15 years. Renee and I appreciate your business & the friendships that have developed over the time we have been in operation.

I hope to see you in the field once in a while.

    All the best

    Don & Renee Smith

    Don,
what items are you looking at keeping in stock? I know you have a large catalog to choose from, anything you plan on focusing on?

Re: TMDCO Important Announcemt & Update

      Hi Bryant,

At first, it will be an extra of what ever I am currently working on, until I am through the orders I have on the books.

After that, It will be what ever folks are buying ( Or what new and intersting item I find and copy), maybe I will take on a few kits as well.

It will become a side thing for me, as I am not intending to go back into this full time.

(However, I will still do work for Museums, the NPS & State parks)

At the most on a full time job side of things, I would definatley considder working for another maker or vendor, if I could get a guaranteed amount of work for a 40 hour work week.

We will see what the future holds

      All the best

      Don S

Sorry to hear that, but it's understandable; times are tough. I was looking at getting a few things, but not until the fall probably, and they won't be things likely to be "in stock".

It is indeed a loss to the hobby. Best wishes in all your future endeavors...

BTW, does this mean you are still taking orders through the end of July?
