Come see me at Woodbury this weekend!
In stock:
1. Handwoven wool scarves (5 feet long and 10 inches wide) in red, brown, navy blue and emerald green
2. Sleeping hats and tams
I will have the Sock Line up so that you can examine and compare different socks before placing an order. Among the socks on display are:
* The Federal Issue Stocking -- Made to the QM specifications, as described in The Columbia Rifles Research Compendium, 2nd Edition
* Mrs. Robert E. Lee's sock -- Reproduction of the original in the Museum of the Confederacy
* 1861 United States Sanitary Commission sock -- Directions were printed in the Hartford Courant, and many other newspapers in 1861, endorsed by General Winfield Scott
* Echoes of Glory/Museum of the Confederacy sock -- Cream and blue sock from Echoes of Glory. Original in the Museum of the Confederacy
* "Flags" sock from "Antiques Roadshow" -- Confederate First National under the foot, Old Glory flying on the leg, a pair of these were presented to Abraham Lincoln, and were appraised on "Antiques Roadshow"
* Army of Tennessee Sock -- Made following the directions printed in the Macon, Georgia Daily Confederate and Telegraph 1864
* 1865 United States Sanitary Commission sock -- Patten printed in the 1865 Sanitary Commission newsletter
Stop by and chat for a while, even if you have no intention of buying knitwear. It's always good to see old friends, and meet new ones.
