Are you a betting man?

New to Carter and Jasper are these copies of an 1840s "Sweat" or "Chuck-a-Luck" board. The board is 47"long and 9" wide. This is completely hand painted with an enamel and muliti-colored. It rolls into a nice tube and fits inside its own drawstring bag. Included, inside the bag, is a small pouch to hold 3 antique dice.
AND if you don't know how to play this famous game of soldiers, instructions are included as well.
This wonderful set is produed by AKM Dry Goods for Carter and Jasper. I currently have 3 in stock, but more to follow.

What is the purpose of the board? Do you place your money on your pick?

I understand how the game is played. I am just curious about the board and its purpose.

This being a copy of an original, I can only assume that it was for portable gaming. Much like the ones some fellows put on their groundcloths. This was a civilian piece and the board is used simply for laying down the markers or money for the throw of the dice. This is a complete kit,a s previosuly mentioned, it has the dice and the rules of how to play and use the board.
