Re: CS Blankets are finally here!

Is this a copy of the same original blanket that County Cloth has reproduced in the past? People always called it "Charlie's Gettysburg Blanket".

Re: CS Blankets are finally here!

      Rob,

Short answer: yes. Though our reproductions of the same blanket differ significantly from one another, part of the trip next week will include a photo session with my reproduction next to the original. Pictures will be posted on my website and likely here on the AC. Definitely take a few minutes to check out the results of the side by side comparison when we get back.

I got one similar made by FHW a few years ago, it is great, simple but very useful.

          Tom,

Pat did a run of generic "CS blankets" after viewing the original of this blanket in the mid nineties. Though in talking with him at the beginning of this project he admitted that his blanket was nowhere near as close to the original as our reproduction is, and was really just a generic blanket.
Robert,
do some creative financing! Sell some unneeded things! (like Shelbie!) And if you cou-tou (give in) to her setting the limits for your purchases now be prepared for limits thru out your life together! (that =:cry_smile)
Well she means far to much to me to sell her, is is a one in the universe kinda girl. Bobby Hughes has seen pics of her. " Bobby chime in here any minute now buddy" lol, I'm not planing on letting her go.;) And the setting the limits. Well I was raised to take care of my responsibilities first then what I want. And the life together thing,:confused_ well I might be working on that. I am 23 and she is 21, so neither of us are in a rush of that kind, to get going on the "M" word right now. But I thinking of selling some of the stuff i have now. Most of it I have made my self, or have taken apart to re-work it to make it correct. I do loan a lot of stuff to newbies in my unit. So i;m gonna try and figure something out. :wink_smil

Dan has failed to mention that each blanket will come equipped with a 15 inch slit in the middle so that it may be worn like a poncho. With any luck the wool will slowly unravel at the edges and give it that cool dangling fringe look.

                    Fred,

You only get one of the ponchos if you score a touchdown. Sombrero costs extra.

                    Cost is $30,000.

                        William,

I can send you as many blankets as you like. There's a price break at five, and the overseas shipping charge is the same whether you're ordering one or ten.

I have hit the alert button on Mr. Baker's flippant post. He is confusing Ponchos with Snuggies. I am sure William is wanting to clad the French Mess in Snuggies, not Ponchos.
