I saw the mere prototypes to these a couple of months back. Outstanding in their R&D stage...these finals must be spectacular.

So, here's my stupid question: If I don't have a blue collar on my coat, won't these look a little bit strange?

I had the same question when I saw the prototypes, but have seen several examples of collar insignia with branch color NOT on a color of the same color. Did that make sense? A quick look through EOG and/or Collecting the Confederacy would show a few examples.

I'll second Pat's comment. I had a nearly identical set custom made for myself a little while ago to match a particular coat I was copying (wish I had known about these before I went through the trouble, but I still might grab these as well). The bars were sewn onto a blue collar, but the blue background on the bars was a much different shade of blue than the collar itself. And yes, I have noted a couple coats in which bars on a blue background have been sewn onto a collar that lacked a similar facing color as well.

                        Patrick,

Thanks to the swift action of both you and the USPS, I just received mine in the mail today. Could not be happier with the quality! Given the fact that I was looking for western theatre cav, I was quite particular in my search. The quality and authentic look of your product, was well worth the wait.

                        Thank you,
