Good morning ACers,
With the help of S.E. Libby and Co., we have probably the last batch of original Enfield cone protectors. Every Enfield that made its way across the pond would have had one of these attached to it, and our cone protectors are not just functional, but also collectible. Apart from the brass closed S hooks, the tear-drop chain, rin, and head are all original hardware. Newly iron-dyed leather was attached using glue (per the originals). These do not have in inaccurate rubber/plastic cone protectors that are typically sold.
Currently, we have 7 with leather pads and 3 without. We will see what we can do with the remaining 3 if there is enough interest. British regulations called for replacement pieces to be on hand when theat her became worn or fallen off in the field, and surviving chains still attached to the Enfield typically do not have the leather on then still.
$45 shipped for leather- 7 available
$40 shipped without- 3 available
In Stock Muskets Please see our Facebook page for additional pictures or send us a PM for additional pictures.
1. Euroarms p1853 Enfield Rifle-Musket very low serial number (0900s) with a shiny bore (3 lands and grooves). The stock has minimal signs of use, and would be an excellent candidate for defarbing. $600 shipped
2. Euroarms p1853 Rifle-Musket with the blueing removed, and signs of use around the bolster/sight area. We believe this would clean up very well for someone whom could make accurate use during hunting season with the relined bore (6 lands and grooves). Stock shows only minimal wear. $600 shipped
3. Navy Arms m1863 (serial number 0148) Springfield Rifle-Musket. This piece was defarbed by Lodgewood, with only the lockplate needing attention. This rifle has been to only one event since it was worked on in 2014. The rifle is in excellent shape, and is just about 1864 ready! $700 shipped
4. City of Philadelphia conversion musket. This is not the typical 1816 conversion typically seen at events. These rifles were altered early in the war for Philadelphia before seeing Federal use. The unique bolster conversion will surely stand out next time in formation. The musket needs minor attention (tang screw, lock screw, new ramrod- comes with a shortened 33" original ramrod that would sit well in a civilian shotgun or Enfield carbine/rifle for a different look- or you could sell). If you're into Philadelphia or Eastern theater impressions, this musket will start many conversations amongst friends. $660 shipped
