  • Fall Down and Go Boom

    To all our customers,

My sewing efforts will be set back several weeks due to a broken wrist in two spots. It is all the hazards of the full time job and firemen leaving water on the road at -10 degrees. I am making efforts to use some back up seamstresses to get samples out to those vendors who have asked, and also finish off some orders.

If anyone has any questions feel free to drop me a line or give me a call. Orders will still be taken forcatalog items; it will just take a little longer to stitch them up.

Thank You for your orders and your understanding.

Tender wishes from a victim of black ice two Wisconsin winters ago, one who didn't heed doctor's advice and tried to rush the healing. Give yourself time!

Sorry to hear that Todd. Hope you escaped without orthopedic surgery.

Good luck on trail to recovery.

The term I got is "Snuff Box Fracture" from the Ortho. I defined it as "Up that certain creek without a paddle".

OH, great! Now I'll never get my shirt!
Just kidding. Take care buddy. See you in the field soon.

I was almost with you two weeks ago investigating an accident too, almost blew my knee out if I wouldn't have caught myself.

HEY, email me about possibly getting a sack coat KIT and meeting up with you at Gettysburg in March to go "looking" at artifacts.

              Todd,

Sister had a compound break at the wrist a couple of years ago--after 2 surgeries, 2 weeks in the hospital and 12 weeks of casts and pins, the Doc was discussing various rehab options, and said musingly

Look, do you knit or crochet or anything? That would be the best rehab if you just did that pretty steady....

                Todd -
There are injuries where the doctor tells you to get some rest and you kind of ignore him and there are injuries where the doctor tells you to get some rest and you need to pay attention.

A snuff box fracture is in the latter category. It's a pretty common sports medicine injury so I'm very familiar with it - happens in basketball a lot.

You seriously do need to let that heal or it could be very debilitating later on.

                  Comrade,

What Paul said. Fractures, heck, any injuries involving a joint always need the utmost in conservative treatment. It's especially important given your work and hobbies.....

My best regards and wishes for a full recovery, and,

                  I remain,

                  Respectfully,

                    Paul,

Figured you would know what a Snuff Box was. I appreciate the advise and the well wishes from all. This one will be an adventure for sure.

Mrs. Lawson, Sewing was really good theropy for the Game Keepers Thumb from 4 years ago. (Same hand, and yes that was because of a drunk too)

Chris, I will call or write. Should be back in the office doing training within the week, so only you will have to turn down the radio for us to hear.

Maybe I should just start doing a top notch Invalid Corp Impression?

Well...no more knitting needles will be abused the way I have abused them over the past 6 weeks. The cast is off, bones are as mended as the will ever be, and we will be getting back to taking orders.

Thanks to all for the kind words of support.
