Carter & Jasper has just received a stock of new skillets custom made by our blacksmith. These skillets are COMPLETELY hand made. The pan is pressed in the blacksmith shop and then the handle is added using three rivets. The pans measure approx. 7 inches in diameter across the top and have a 9-10 inch handle. They weigh only 10 ounces. The large skillets are made in the same fashion but measure 10 inches in diameter across the top, with a 12-14 inch handle. Introductory price is $45 for small and $55 for large.
We also have the new Cat Tracks and Snail Trails coverlets in stock. These fine coverlets are woven in Virginia by a family of weavers who have been in business since the early
19th century. The pattern that these coverlets are woven from was originally the pattern of the Gutherie family of Colraine Township, PA. They began weaving this pattern as early as 1750, and eventually settled in the Shenadoah Valley of Virginia, where this family's descendants still live. They are who provided the pattern for our weavers to reproduce this coverlet. The coverlets are woven on a cotton warp with a wool weft and pre-washed. The coverlets come in two sizes, small (54" x 68") and large (54" x 78). Retail is usually $95 and $105, but I am going to offer these at a special introductory price of $85 each for a limited time. Special offer expires on 02-27-07. Many colors are in stock, including red, maroon, green, black, blue, brown, blue/green, etc. This is an unbelieveable price for a great product. I've just returned from a museum show where participants commented on how these repros actually felt like the originals they'd handled.
We also have a small quantity of Jodi Nolan made civilian / military trousers made from light and dark gray cotton jeans. Very high quality, and available in 32x31, 34x31
36x31, and 38 x 31. The trousers are priced at $135 per pair.
