Re: Approved Vendors label is NOT a rubber stamp
Having purchased from two vendors (who shall remain nameless here) on the list this year I have found both products suited my needs for quality, authenticity and pricing.
Were there other options on the list, you betcha. Were they better or worse than what I purchased, could have been, I don't know.
Did I get plenty of conflicting advice on who was "best", yep.
It really comes down to quality of product and quality of service.
Without being Consumer Reports I believe the moderators have done a decent job of putting multiple vendors on the list that provide the same products (ex:hats), I don't see any politics in that, if there were politics there'd be one or two vendors for each product, we have many choices.
It is up to us as individuals to choose who best suits our needs. Other people have different criteria and may sneer at your choices, you may sneer at theirs.
"Best" is and always will be relative and specific to the needs of the individual buyer.
Someone posted a comment about having to "wait" for a product. I waited quite a while for one of the items I ordered, but I was told at the time I ordered it would be a good number of weeks and I wasn't billed until the item was shipped. That is good customer service, the seller set reasonable expectations in me (which I accepted) and then didn't charge me until he delivered the goods. The other vendor had the item in stock and shipped right away.
They were both cases of good customer service despite being different.
So no the list isn't a rubber stamp and shouldn't be. And no not every vendor on the list will be the best one for you as an individual.
