  • Silk and Wool Housewives

    Give a present to yourself or someone else special. Housewives handsewn from silk and wool. Your choice of initials will be embroidered in silk.

    $80 ($20 to preservation) includes shipping. 2 available

    Stocked with
    • journal – 4” x 5 1/2”, marbleized and shellacked cover, 100% acid free cotton rag paper pages that are hand stitched with linen thread for individual removal
    • cedar pencil
    • lump of raw beeswax wrapped in linen
    • paper backed tin, glass, and bone buttons in handsewn poke sack
    • patch fabric –FHW jean cloth, C. Childs satinette, FHW satinette, canton flannel, wool
    • needles
    • thread wrapped on cloth - non-mercerized black, brown, blue, and off-white cotton thread
    • reproduction postage stamps on 100% rag paper
    • hanks of hemp twine in two sizes
    • wooden dice
    • handsewn poke sack in which to carry it all

    These are ready to be embroidered and sent.

    If you’re wondering what to give the campaigner who has everything, these are the comforts from home, all handstitched with great fabrics. The best part is that preservation will benefit, as well.

      I just recieved the sleeping cap from you, and its wonderful. The people here at work were impressed. Thanks for the two wooden dice too :)

      I have your address already, and would like one of these Housewives. I'll take your choice on color, and the initials RLM would be great. I'll include this info in the letter with the payment :)
