  • Jersey Skillet Licker - The Official Statement

    Folks,
After 7 years of selling goods I am closing my business, at least for the foreseeable future. There are too many people to thank, including my customers and the many talented makers I have dealt with over the years.

I will be posting what items I have left in the coming days and will also supply the email addresses of the vendors whom are still open to doing direct business with you.

Thanks to those who have left messages on the thread in The Sinks and most especially to Ms. Terre Lawson, a southern belle in every sense of the word.

I have enjoyed my time doing this and hope that I leave this aspect of the hobby a little better than I found it.

              Mr. Hofmann,

Thank you truly for your guidance in my growing awakening to more authentic items and attitudes. You were always very patient with me (Double Bag, no, wait, Shorts!...er...Double Bag! No, maybe Short's?) and did what you said you would do. You've set a great example and the feedback this sad news has generated is testimony to that.

              Good luck and God bless,
              Joe Marti

                Joe,

Thanks for your help over the years with many of my orders as well as my comrades in the Hard Heads and Citizens Guard that have enjoyed purchasing from you with a professionalism rarely seen in our hobby.

Take care and all the best in your future pursuits.

                    Joe:

Sorry to hear that. I still wear, with pride, the citizen shirt that I bought from you five years ago. It was one of my first purchases from a quality vendor and although it is now five years old, it hasn't lost a thread (or button). Good luck to you in whatever you do. You have always been fair and honest and those are qualities that will certainly help you in whatever you do.

                      Joe,
Thanks Pard for ALWAYS taking care of my LH purchases. You really came through many times and I could alays call and just talk to.
A little bit of you will still be represented on the field for a long time. Anytime you feel the need to get to an event that I'm at you have an invite fall in.
I will miss ya but I'm thinking you will be back some day.
                      Cheers:D

It is a sad, sad thing when some one so fine must leave the hobby. We will miss you Joe and all the things you have done for us; selling quality items during a time when there were very little to be found. Thanks again pard, and the best of luck in your future ventures.

In addition to yet another statement on excellent service let me add that a number of fence rails at Perryville & Picketts Mill are there as a result of Joe donating raffle items to MOOCOWS events, something he was not asked to do but volunteered on his own.
