It looks like they do but I can't tell for sure from the image - there is some notation on the back that this is a reproduction isn't there?

With the sheer volume of counterfeit items that I deal with in the real world Mark has taken efforts to make his CDV's accurate, yet still identifiable as a reproduction. At the very bottom of the CDV, on the reverse, is a very small URL. This is his mark to show that they are reproductions. I asked Mark about this as we prepared to make the posting. Mark states that if someone wishes to remove the URL it is purely on them, but it can easily been done with a sharp #10 blade. The URL can be scraped off with little effort and no damage to the card. He provided an example to me in which he used an original image (I don’t know which format) to make a series of CDV's for a customer. The image with of their relative, and they wanted some CDV's made off of it. No you can clearly see that any nefarious individuals could take the step a little further and easily produce bogus CDV's. With the simple back mark some counterfeiting can be reduced. Lets face it though…if someone wants to counterfeit a CDV, they will there is only so much that can be done.

Thanks for the explanation.

I was going to try several, but the modern URL on the back scared me away.

(I am reminded, I think it was, of Hannover Brass, that put a very tiny almost invisible letter "H" hidden on their belt plates somewhere as a "touch-mark" to counter forgeries.)

Might want to change the way the numbers are situated under the examples. The second your cursor comes off the number it goes back to the first image. IOn the other hand if you leave it there you only get to see a small portion of the bottom of the image. They are dandy products though. ~Gary

You may want to add a few labels from some Southern photographers as well.Texas and Virginia would be a good start.
