  • Homespun America...One Fabulous CD

    Folks,
Unearthed a batch of these CD's I had for my business. This is really the only music CD I ever carried as it is truely unique. While most living historians and buffs are used to the large amount of regimental bands and fife and drum music, there is a sorely missing item for those interested in a true slice of a mid 19th century small town sound.
This CD fills the bill. It takes the listener back to small town America when there were frequent concerts in the park and the tunes were lively and quaint. Also featured are vocal renditions of songs made famous by the Hutchinson Family Singers, arguably the most famous act of the mid 19th century.
This 2 CD set with booklet is offered for the price of $5 plus $3.50 shipping via 1st class mail in a padded envelope. I take paypal and also mastercard/visa/american express.
Check this page at Amazon for more info:

Better jump on this, lads -- it's great "road" music. Some of the arrangements are a little too, um, New Christy Minstrels (or think "A Mighty Wind") for my delicate sensibilities but it's good fun and brings to life music that isn't heard much anymore on the airwaves or even live and in person.

The accompanying booklet has good information about the musicians from our period of interest, too.

I have two copies of this double CD -- shoot, I think I'll pop in Vol II right now!

You won't be disappointed. Order early and often.

I'm a bit confused....do we order from you or Amazon? I tried to access your site from work but it won't let me, though I can access Amazon. I definitely want one, maybe two.

          Please advise, thanks,
