  • James River Armory

There's some scuttlebutt going around on other forums as to the status of this company (James River Armory). Does anyone here have any FACTUAL information about the status of this company? Meaning you have talked with the owners in recent weeks about their business & website?

    Thanks,

    Paul B.

I was told by Jason (the gunsmith at Regimental Quartermaster) that they will no longer be doing defarb work on Civil War muskets and their interests are gravitating toward WWII reenacting. Their website is down. I don;t know the contact info to talk to the business owners directly. If they are out of the business, is there anyone else besides Zimmerman that does defarbing? I've heard too many bad things about Zimmerman to ever take anything to him to have done.

      All,

I just talked with Mark Hartman on the phone last week.

He is currently relocating his shop and it may be hard to get in touch with him over the next month or so. Leave a message at his old shop number and he will eventually get back to you.

He said that he has no plans to stop defarbing work for Civil War. (This only makes sense since he is an approved gunsmith for N-SSA.) He eluded to the fact that he is currently taking limited numbers of muskets because of the shop move.

      Paul,

      Sent you a PM.

        Hallo!

Yes, I also talked to Mark last week about ordering some parts, and he shared the same.

I can vouch for the same story from Mark that I was told at the May N-SSA Nationals. I am sure he is just moving.

            Hello,

Okay I was misinformed, my apologies. Could I get his phone number from someone so I can call him. I have a Mississippi rifle I'd like to have work done on. Thanks.

                Josh,
I just sent my Mississippi Rifle to him on Tuesday. Maybe he can do them both at the same time.

I have noticed quite a few things missing from their new site that were once for sale on the old one.
