  • Problems with Bailey,Bennett and Scott

    Hello All,
Last September I contacted Mike McComas of Bailey,Bennett and Scott tailors and ordered six uniform items. We agreed a price of $1200 dollars and I duly sent off $600 as a deposit. He promised that the uniforms would be completed within 2 months.(I have bought several items of him previously, without a problem).By Christmas I had heard nothing so I attempted to contact him.I went via the link on Authentic Campaigner, but that had mysteriously stopped working and his website seems to have folded too.I tried his email time and time again to no effect.I eventually found another e-mail address and contacted him via that.He replied that he had been busy at work and he 'hoped' to get the first two out to me in May (Nine months after the order was placed),but they have failed to materialize. I have tried many times to contact him since, without success. Finally,a couple of weeks ago,I asked for my money back.Again there has been no reply. I personally find this appalling service and I wondered if you had had any more complaints from other board users about this vendor?
    Thanks Jeff Dugdale

I remember seeing a couple threads here about 2 years ago where people were having the same kind of trouble.

What if something like a poll could be done that rates vendors on certain categories like quality, customer service, delivery time, etc. You could give a rating of 1-5 stars. This could help give an idea on where vendors strengths & weaknesses lie. I am sure someone with more intelligence then me can create something so people dont have the same problems that others had.

I figure that way there is no bad mouthing or trashing anyone. I dont know, just thoughts that pop into my head from time to time. :tounge_sm

I personally have never had any problem with this vendor, but since he is on the list of AC-approved vendors you should contact Paul via the help desk folder.

I had big problems with him too. I ordered a coat and after waiting months I was offered a coat from a cancelled order. It didn't fit the bill (was too small and had R buttons on it) and I returned it. He said he'd get to what I originally ordered, there were three others ahead of me. After waiting months again I asked for my money back and he replied that he had already reimbursed my Paypal account. Trouble is I had sent him a money order. I told him this but shortly afterward he stopped replying to emails or private messages posted here.

If you mailed him a money order and did not recieve the product ordered or have your money returned contact the Postal Inspection Service. Maybe that will get his undivided attention. ~Gary
