  • Traveling Man's Emporium!

I had Kiev make up a kepi from some scrap jean(FGX) with a black band. I have wanted one of these caps since 2006 when we put on Fort Donelson because according to period accounts the only sign of any uniformity in the Army was a cap with a black band and black trouser stripes on tan trousers. Kiev nailed the cap and I could not be more happy with the work!

    Hi,

I too received a wonderful kepi from Kiev. It is a tan wool jean kepi, with a black wool top. The sewing is very well done, and it fits perfectly!!! It will be a wonderful cap addition to my Georgia Militia impression for Bummers. I look forward to ordering products from him in the future. Thanks

Kiev is going to be making an article for me in the near future (well, as soon as I can pay him for it) and I look forward to his craftsmanship; I have heard nothing but great feedback regarding his work.

I have several items made by Kiev including a Confederate overcoat, Federal Officers frock, a confederate officers kepi and a plain confederate kepi. All are well made and researched. Kiev spends many hours a month at various museums documenting original pieces. For all items Kiev has made for me he took the time to find out exactly what I wanted and explain what his research of similiar items showed. His customer service is top knotch.

It is now my time to chime in,

As a relatively new re-enactor to the authentic side of the hobby, Kiev has not only encouraged and helped me to research and purchase proper gear and clothing, he has also worked with me to upgrade my current impressions. The quality of his work has not only led to my satisfaction but surpassed it and my parents, as he has made articles for them as well. I can only echo what those have said before me in that the customer service is top notch and then some, paralleling his work.

He has made me: 1 shirt, 2 Kepi's, 1 vest.
I have added my name to the list of orders for a civilian walking frock and several other items.

To say that I have come to expect the best from his item's would simply undermine their quality.
