I likewise called yesterday and today and got no answer. I'd really like some blue gray jean.

Can't some of our good friends send us some tobacco? We intend to "hang up our stockings." if they can't send tobacco, please send us the seed, and we will commence preparing the ground; for we mean to defend this place till h-ll freezes over, and then fight the Yankees on the ice.
Any idea when it'd be ready? I need some fairly soon, and if I can't get it in the next couple of weeks, it won't be any use to me. If you talk to him, let him know I'd like some if that's possible. I called twice and left my number. Haven't heard anything back.

Ok, his site is gone! How does one reach him? Anyone have his telephone number? I would greatly appreciate having it.
Thanks.

Ben returned my call today, and I've got just what I need on order. I believe his website is back up as well.

Ben and I are gonna start working together. If you all have a hard time catching him I am gonna be doing some sales for him. Call me at 404 358 5611 and I will see if I have it in stock or I will pick it up from Ben. It's just cranking up and the going is slow but before long I will be able to fill most of your fabric needs from Ben. I will also have a stock of Trouser and Jacket blanks. As soon as the items or fabrics hit my door step I will post on here and my website. I will have a small list of goods at Olustee FLorida next weekend. Drop by and see what I have. I will be set up with Joe Blunt on Sutlers Row.
Thanks!

All the reason I need to try and make Olustee... I was kind of disappointed in reading this thread, thinking that perhaps Mr. Tart was going the way of so many other former quality vendors. Thanks, Lt. Thomason. You're doing a great service to the community...

Folks,
Please don't draw the above conclusion from the sentiments expressed in this thread. Ben is pursuing some job opportunities in the historic preservation field, and his available time for sewing and dyeing cloth is constantly shrinking. Couple that with the fact that sources for good fabric are drying up every day Ben is dealing with more calls than ever and anyone would have trouble keeping up with all of them.
I think Ben and Kiev have made an excellent decision to partner up, and that shows that he's aware that folks are having trouble reaching him and he's taking real steps to solve the situation.
So I would suggest that people just continue to bear with him and the situation will get better, phone calls will be returned and he will continue to produce top quality fabrics for years to come. And if you do get a chance to talk with him on the phone or in person, take a few seconds to tell him how much you appreciate the work he does. I do.
Best,
