Re: Ben Tart's site
I likewise called yesterday and today and got no answer. I'd really like some blue gray jean.Phil Graf
Can't some of our good friends send us some tobacco? We intend to "hang up our stockings." if they can't send tobacco, please send us the seed, and we will commence preparing the ground; for we mean to defend this place till h-ll freezes over, and then fight the Yankees on the ice.

Re: Ben Tart's site
Any idea when it'd be ready? I need some fairly soon, and if I can't get it in the next couple of weeks, it won't be any use to me. If you talk to him, let him know I'd like some if that's possible. I called twice and left my number. Haven't heard anything back.Phil Graf

Re: Ben Tart's site
All the reason I need to try and make Olustee... I was kind of disappointed in reading this thread, thinking that perhaps Mr. Tart was going the way of so many other former quality vendors. Thanks, Lt. Thomason. You're doing a great service to the community...

"I was kind of disappointed in reading this thread, thinking that perhaps Mr. Tart was going the way of so many other former quality vendors."
Folks,
Please don't draw the above conclusion from the sentiments expressed in this thread. Ben is pursuing some job opportunities in the historic preservation field, and his available time for sewing and dyeing cloth is constantly shrinking. Couple that with the fact that sources for good fabric are drying up every day Ben is dealing with more calls than ever and anyone would have trouble keeping up with all of them.
I think Ben and Kiev have made an excellent decision to partner up, and that shows that he's aware that folks are having trouble reaching him and he's taking real steps to solve the situation.
So I would suggest that people just continue to bear with him and the situation will get better, phone calls will be returned and he will continue to produce top quality fabrics for years to come. And if you do get a chance to talk with him on the phone or in person, take a few seconds to tell him how much you appreciate the work he does. I do.
