I got a pair from Orchard Hill last year. They're wool with a decently embroidered caduceus running up it. Orchard Hill isn't taking orders right now, but I was recently scrolling through the million page PDF catalogue which you can download from the S&S Firearms (not to be confused with S&S Sutlers) site. I saw a pair in the catalogue that I think were the same ones I ordered from Orchard Hill. To confuse things further there are at least three 'S&S Firearms'. The one with steward insignia are northeast, either NYC or New Jersey.
The period images I've seen of stewards show insignia that appear more finely manufactured, with a narrow yellow border, than this reproduction.
That's the only source I can piece out.

Pards,
Does any vendor make a really good hospital steward sleeve insignia?

I'd honestly try to get a pair from BJ Zirkle out in Texas. He makes hands down the best hand made emboidered items around. Not sure if he would take on this custom project, but I assure you, when it's done, it'll be the best in the hobby.
