  • Ethan Rogers Tarred Goods

Just wondering who out there has purchased equipment from him and what your opinion is? Also, does anyone have a contact email address or something for him? I have used the one on his website and it doesn't seem to work. Thanks.

    Jason,
I've never purchased any of his goods, but those that have speak highly of him.
Some weeks back i inquired about some items, and he replied that he was not currently taking orders, but hoped to resume making sometime soon.

Be very careful. Ethan made a good many things, but they were not always accurate. There was a pretty painful discussion of his Englsh knapsack that when side by side compared to two originals, one of which he stated it was copied from, was not even close as to dimensions, materials and constuction. It became apparent that he had in fact not personally examined the knapsack.

In my opinion, there are better choices out there...based on his previous efforts. I do not know if that will change. As always, ask for documentation.

Not to pull a pile-on, but I had less than stellar results from a Kibbler bag bought from him a few years ago. The straps ripped in three places the first event I took it to, and the bag itself ripped at the next event. The paint was good though...

Ross is right - I had forgotten the shoddy construction of an item I purchased, and quickly shed.
