  • Robert Land?

    Hey pards,

I'm seekin out some help for another pard of mine, Hunter Smith (his AC account won't let him post, and he can't get it figured out... so I'm postin on his behalf). He ordered a pair of Fredricksburg shoes back in April. He paid in Mr. Land in full and waited for his product. He had no word from Mr. Land for a couple of months and finally called him July. Mr. Land said that the product had been shipped, but he couldn't give a trackin number. So now, Hunter is waiting for his shoes. Also, Mr. Land won't return e-mails..... any help would be greatly appriciated.

    Thanks much,

    Re: Robert Land?

Actually i have contacted him several times, i think twice by phone and 3 times be email with only one reply to the emails. The second time i called him(late July) he said he had sent the shoes and he would get me the trackin number from whatever company he sent the shoes with. But of course he didnt call me back like he said. Has nebody had this problem? What should i do?

    Thanks.

      Re: Robert Land?

Same situation happened to me MANY years ago when I ordered a pair of the SAME shoes. I called and emailed (sometimes getting no response) and finally got the reply that, "They have been sent" and he furnished me with the date shipped and everything.

A few months later...yes, a few months later...I got the shoes and when I looked at the shipping address from Canada - low and behold, they were shipped on the day he said!!!

Why they took sooooooooooooooo long, I have no idea. Maybe your friend has to wait a few months like me.

Sorry I can't give you a better reply rather my personal experience.

That much of a delay sounds unbelievable, but my company is Canadian owned and we are constantly experience weeks of delay at customs. Our IS department often overlooks some small detail on the customers paperwork which causes everything to come to a screeching hault. Never gotten into months though.... Good luck.

I have had only one experience with Robert Land, and it was a very positive one. He came to New Market, Va., years ago, and I bought a pair of brogans from him and he repaired my old ones...for free. That was probably in 1994, and both brogans are still in action though I'm probably going to be in the market for a new pair soon.

I don't think Customs are a problem anymore, as he ships his shoes from New York to avoid this kind of thing. Maybe when you ordered your shoes a while back he was still shipping them from Canada?

I just got the same pair of shoes from Land, they got to me with in a week or so. I would call his number listed on his website until you got ahold of him.

Sorry I can't be of more help!

I heard from someone my last trip up to Gettysburg that he had broken an arm or something like that. But I've been wrong before.
