  • John Peterson, Otter Creek Tin

Want to give credit to John Peterson for outstanding service, and assistance in acquiring a great period lantern and tinplate cup. I already had a canteen made by him that has served me very well over the years. He was very helpful and considerate of my situation and time frame.

Boys, if you need something made of tinplate, and very accurate, check out John.

I cannot agree more with the previous message. I had the very great fortune in procurring one of John Peterson's exquisite Bartholomae canteens, on this forum, which has served me well over the past summer.
We have had a respectful discourse on several matters since then and I will purchase tin ware from him before anyone else.
He is a consumate White smith and a gentleman.

"He is a consumate White smith and a gentleman."

Not to mention Eagle Scout, proud father and excellent school teacher. Wonder if he still likes watercraft and making musical instruments?

I have to agree with all the above. I still have several of his items, and he also repaired an original canteen for me.

Agree on all points. I have quite a bit of his tinware, all top shelf. Also had a great discourse with him a couple years ago on period tin cans, of which I shared photos from the Arabia, Cairo and other collections with him. Great scholar and whitesmith.
