Walton, Taylor, and Company

Greetings,

Has anyone had any experience with Walton, Taylor and Co. in Texas? While not purveyors of Uniform goods, they do make mid-late century civilian clothes, gun leather, etc. Just curious to know if anyone knows them, their products, and their customer service, etc.

In their other "incarnation," they are more famous for WWII uniforms.

Yes, two pards and I have used them for 1870's and 1880's clothing.

IMHO, they represent the "higher end" of the very poor offerings out there- largely due to the lack of standards found in the Cowboy Action Shooting community.

We have purchased multiple sets of suits, sack coats, vests, and trousers. They offer a range of Period fabrics, and garments are "of the period" in terms of machine sewing and hand-sewn button-holes.

There have been problems in the past, such as when the business grew faster than capacity, and when the physical location was moved. The ability to contact them fell off, and e-mails and phone calls went unanswered.
Due to skyrocketing demand, we found it best to call and when getting an answer ask what items were on the shelf and buying those rather than placing an order.

It has been 2-3 years since we have ordered, so what is curently I do not know.

But I have been waiting several years for their website to be updated so that their "pantaloons" offerings are available.

Others' mileage will vary...

Howdy Sam!

I'm one of the lads that Curt is talking about ordering from this Company.
What I have received from them is decent quality but communications are too spotty almost non existent, most of the time ,for the past three years at least, in my experience.
Just last month I sent them an e-mail ,because I had noticed their advertisement in a latest periodical, inquiring as to what they might have in stock. As usual, no answer as of this writing.

If you're looking for authentic WWII German uniforms Ed Walton offers great stuff, but for mid-19th century civilian clothing I'd look elsewhere.

All good advice as usual. I was curious as about two years ago I sent them an email about one of their leather products. Never heard back.
