  • Bully for Eric Woods

Just wanted to give 3 cheers for one of my favorite providers of civil war goods, Eric Woods. He can make pretty much anything to the standards of even the most picky campaigner(me) and his customer service is the absolute BEST out there. His prices can't be beat either.

So, if you need anything from a knapsack, leather goods to authentically made clothing, I would STRONGLY suggest you contact him.

Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah for Eric Woods!
    Kindest regards,

I second that...Eric's attention to detail and authenticity are tops. He's one of the nicest guys in the business. And if he can't do it(which is rare), he'll always steer you in the right direction!

I got a topnotch SA blouse from him some time back. A pard loved it so much, I sold it to him. It was well made and below the market price for something with so much attention to detail and so many handstitches.

As far as I know, Eric is working on his own now. Ditto Possums response. If you need to get hold of Eric, get in touch with me, and I'll forward it to him. Maybe if he reads this, he'll post his email on here?? I'll give him a heads up.

The DBB website is down I spoke with Wayne Hutzell last weekend, and he informed me that he is making modifications to the site. He did not offer a time frame as to when the project would be complete.

I'll also vouch for Eric Woods he's a personal friend, and does put a lot of effort and care into his work.

                  Re: Bully for Eric Woods

This is a direct quote that Eric Woods sent to my email this evening.

"Gentlemen, after many years of sutlering, I am no longer affiliated with "The Dirty Back Boys", it has grown beyond my reach. They are still around, and even have a retail shop in Gettysburg partnered with EJ Thomas, Dick Watters, and Todd Morris, in old Gettysburg Village. I am still doing my work though, one piece at a time, for every individual customer. I remain constant to the fact to give you all the BEST authenticity at the most AFFORDABLE prices. When you order from me, you get MY work. I have cut, pinned, sewn, punched, dyed, etc. all here in my work area. I take extreme pride in my work, and you will get my craftsmanship and reasearch to the best of my ability. I look forward to many more years of serving the reenacting community, and will continue to provide the best item possible at the most reasonable price. Thank you. Again, please contact Mr. Kilpatrick if you need to reach me."
                  Kindest regards,

                    Re: Bully for Eric Woods

Eric has been making stuff for me for years and his prices even with the change in economy has stayed the same, in the fast pace world when most people are just trying to make a buck and get through customers faster Eric takes the time to sit down and do everything to the highest quality. Eric is a good friend of mine and I would recommend him to anyone, truly one of the BEST sutlers today
