  • Seeking vendor for company letters and regimental numbers

    All,
I'm searching for a vendor that sells the large antebellum 1" company letters and regimental numbers for a ca. 1853 LH group I am organizing. The rest of the ornamentation for the m1851 shakos I've made is en route, but I need the letters to dress them out for issue.

Any help is appreciated....if they do bulk buys/wholesale, all the better.

    [HOUSTON] TRI-WEEKLY TELEGRAPH, October 28, 1863,

    Wanted.

All ladies in Houston and surrounding counties who have cloth on hand, which they can spare, are requested to donate it to the ladies of Crockett for the purpose of making petticoats for the Minute Men of this county, who have "backed out" of the service. We think the petticoat more suitable for them in these times.

Try Parsley's Brass in Mechanicsville, VA. I know he does the "W" and "A" for Washington Artillery kepis and I think he has other templates also. He also does white brass (looks like silver). Some of the guys at Morris Island are sportin' white brass South Carolina buttons this weekend.

Good luck. He and his wife are a pleasure to deal with.
