After reading positive reviews online, I placed an order for some of Jan Berger's Georgia Depot shoes, and upon receipt, I can say they are as good as advertised.
On May 28, I placed my order by putting down a small deposit with Jan. At that time, he informed me my shoes would be ready in 4 to 5 months. In late October, I got word that Jan was beginning work on my shoes. On November 18, they were on my doorstep.
I didn't have much time to break them in before the Lookout Mountain living history this past weekend (November 22-24). Unsure as to whether I should gamble with my feet by wearing them on the ascent, I took a chance.
After a weekend of wear, I am proud to report nothing but comfort. No blisters, no hotspots, no foot pain. The shoes broke in quickly and did not let me down this weekend. I look forward to seeing how they hold up.
