  • Nick Duvall, Leatherworks?

    Hey guys,
Im not sure but hopefully someone could shed light. I want to know if Nick Duvall is still doing leatherwork for CW reenactors? I didn't see any links on his website suggesting that he still is. Thanks guys for any response.

Nick sent an email out and announced on his webpage in December that he was no longer making leather accouterments to order due to a shift in his business model. At the moment, you can buy his goods through S&S Sutler and Regimental Quartermaster. He will also do short runs of items, time permitting.

I am really glad I ordered a set before he did this. I am surprised that more hasn't been said about this.

        Re: Nick Duvall, Leatherworks?

He just sent out an email flier for a short run of 10 English snake belts the other day. He will be doing runs of CW era and other era equipment from time to time. I also emailed County Cloth a few weeks ago about Federal sack coat flannel. He said that he had no plans on any in the future due to lack of demand from the hobby. I imagine that the lack of demand/down swing in the hobby has a lot to do with cut backs from vendors.

I think Cary Davisson has been doing more and there are other skilled leather makers out there. It stinks to lose Nick, but he still is supplying leather goods through vendors so not all is lost.

              Re: Nick Duvall, Leatherworks?

I just found out about this when I went to their web site and noticed all CW stuff was gone. That's a shame - his stuff has been on my "some day" list for a long time now.

Who are some other big names in quality accouterments?

Give him a call, he might be willing to accept a personal order if you prepay for it.
