Is Ben Tart still peddling cloth? I placed a order with him 4 weeks ago over the phone and not heard anything yet. Not responding to my email..
thanks in advance for some info if you have it.
Mark,
I'm not sure if this is still the case, but back when I was dealing with Ben pretty regularly a few years ago, e-mail was the worst way to touch base with him. In fact he used to have his mother answer the e-mails for him (when they were answered at all). It's all about getting him on the phone, and if he is out back with a dye pot going, he will not be picking up the phone. Just keep calling and you will get in touch with him.

To echo Tim's comments, email is definitely not a good way to contact Ben. I have likewise not been able to get in touch with him since just after Perryville, and I suspect that he is doing a lot of large batches of dyestuff while the weather is still somewhat decent. I'd just keep trying to phone him between 10 and 4 every other day or so until he's able to answer.
Have a good one buddy!
Best,
Dan

Ben's wife just had surgery. So he has been out of the net taking care of the family. He's working some odd hours at his shop. I just spoke to him yesterday on the phone. Be patient his plate is pretty full right now. His work hours should return to normal in a few weeks. The number on his website is still correct. Give him a call, it is 252-883-5374, www.bentart.com ,if you need it expedited! He will return your call.

Was Gen Sherman's response upon hearing the capture and execution of 3 reporters who had followed from Atlanta, by the rebels.
