Either one of the above sources will be fine. Unfortunally nobody makes a good repro eagle button with correct looking back, shank and face crimp. If you can find some 10 - 20 year old reproductions they are better. If you go to any CW shows you may be able to find originals for about 4 bucks each on a good day and if you are really lucky you can match backmarks.

In the past (I was most active in LH from 1993-2001), we spoke most highly of the one's produced by Waterbury and the Eagle "I"'s produced by Andy at Fall Creek. How do these rate with the current market?
Thanks to all who've looked at this thread.
IMO the Waterbury bm seem to be the best reproduction but when I was buying my eagle buttons they were very hard to find. All that were available were the ones with no backmark. The no backmark buttons do not have enough detail to show the horizontal lines in the top of the shield and that bothered me. On those buttons the area of the shield is smooth and has no lines. The no backmark buttons do have rounded shank wire which is more correct than the Waterburys which have half round wire but who sees the back? I would use the Waterburys if they are available.

I purchased a bunch of Waterbury Eagle "I" buttons in Sept. from Fall Creek and had no issues with them. I believe they also carry Waterbury Eagles also.
