After searching for a quilted hat for a while I was told that person to turn to was Ross. Having a rather large head Ross custom made this hat out of some of Charlie Childs' #1 jean and all I can say is I was extremely satisfied with his attention to details and more than pleased with the price and turn around time. If anyone else finds themselves looking for a shirt, shelter half or like me, a quilted hat, give Ross a shout.

Re: Great products by Ross L. Lamoreaux
Anyone have a contact for Mr. Lamoreaux? I thought I saw a website a while back but I might be mistaken. Any help is appreciated.

I have to agree. I have 3 shirts made by Ross and they are outstanding. Can't wait to have him make some more. The hat sounds like a great idea.Timothy J. Koehn

Re: Great products by Ross L. Lamoreaux
I also have several shirts by Ross (the oldest perhaps 7 years old), and enjoy the craftmanship exhibited in each. Besides his Civil War era stuff he makes excellent reproductions of the US Army's 1821 summer shirt for Florida's Seminole War reenactors as well.

Re: Great products by Ross L. Lamoreaux
I saw one of Ross' 1851 Domet Flannel Regulation shirts at Down the Valley at EJ Thomas' tent and was super impressed. Having seen the original shirt he copied, it was a 'stitch for stitch clone' of the original.
I tried to talk several people into buying it as I thought it was a great find. Christopher J. Daley
