    Re: Nick Duvall

    Another satisfied customer.

I ordered one of the .58 Cartidge boxes, with sling, from Nick's birthday sale at the end of December. I mentioned I needed it for Shiloh in early April.

It arrived last Friday, March 14th, in the "nick" of time for the New Madrid event, almost a month early. As with all the others, the worksmanship and attention to detail is First Rate.

      Re: Nick Duvall

I am writing a testimonial for a product made by Nick Duvall.

I ordered a Federal cartridge box belt this past Friday in urgent need of it by this coming weekend. A quick phone call to Nick quickly resolved my dilemma. As ubiquitous as a belt might seem, I cannot stress the nature of the leather.

Nick's professionalism and the sheer quality of his work amazes me. In hindsight, I'm extremely glad to have a beautiful belt, American-made, and excellent service.

If you're needed leather gear, bookmark his website (http://www.duvallleatherwork.com/) and order. It's well worth the money.

Nick, thank you. You'll be hearing from me again.

My .69 Cal Confederate cartridge box and sling came today. All I can say is WoW! Was an excellent piece of workmanship. Thanks Nick - it was well worth the wait; I would most heartily recommend Duvall Letherworks!

I just picked up the Confederate Issue Cartridge Box#3 and the #2 Cap Box Friday before High Tide. Outstandsing quality. I love both of them. Will be buying more Accoutrements from Nick.

            Re: Nick Duvall

I ordered my leather goods from Nick as well, as a fresh fish just getting into the hobby (AHT was my first full battle reenactment.) I got the whole private's kit and kaboodle from him- Federal waist belt, cap pouch, bayonet scabbard, cartridge box and rifle sling. Excellent, top notch work.

Point in fact, the pards in my unit spent a while 'oohing' and 'ahhing' at the work; considering upgrading their own to Duvall quality goods.

Any and all of my future leather needs will be going his way.

              Re: Nick Duvall

In addition to his standard pieces, Nick has done several custom projects for me. One was a beautiful sheath for a small side knife. Nick not only did the sheath, but sharpened the blade, too.

My favorite Nick project was a scabbard for the Enfield rifle sword bayonet. I sent Nick an original bayonet and scabbard that had seen better days. Nick used the original furniture to produce a beautiful repro. I have another original Enfield sword bayonet scabbard, and they compare quite favorably.

Big thumbs up in my book.

I received my order from Nick this afternoon. I have seen his work before and I have to say I was still amazed at his craftsmanship. Everything came out great and I could not be happier. Not only are his goods outstanding, he is one of the most pleasant people to deal with I have ever met. Thanks Nick!

Received all of my leather accoutrements from Nick on Friday. I had heard he was the best and he did not dissapoint me in the least. I attended the Cedar Creek event and received more than a few comments about the quality of Nick's work and attention to detail. Nick is great to deal with and provides an exceptional product...thanks Nick and looking forward to doing business again soon.

Nick's First Folded Leather Officer's Sword Belt!

I have recently received a new, much anticipated, Officer’s Folded Leather Sword Belt from Nick Duvall.
All I can say is that it is awesome and I love it!

I believe Nick has some digital pictures he can post on the forum so everyone can drool over it and then place their orders!
I had the opportunity to meet Nick in person back at AHT and I brought up my desire for a nice Officer’s Sword Belt, and Nick let on that he had been itching to try his hand at a folded leather style sword belt for a while and just needed a customer who was interested. Well I jumped at the chance!

In my eyes it is a work of art with beautiful stitching all around the waist belt, and also on the “Sam Brown” shoulder strap and sword hanger straps. Nick worked up a cool uniform protector flap behind the sword hanger hook that allows the hook and protector to move together around the circumference of the belt for adjustment. As a final touch he added some subtle red leather trim to the outside edge of the uniform protector just to go the extra mile!

Nick contacted me several times via phone and email to get measurement and design details finalized. In every way it was a pleasure to work with Nick.

P.S. I know you are a busy guy Nick, but you owe it to yourself to post some of those pictures you took of this belt so others can appreciate your craftsmanship!

                        Re: Nick Duvall

I ordered a two rivet bayonet scabbard from Nick in September or October (can't remember which) and he told me that it may take him a few months to get it done because he was extremely busy and expected to be gone for a while on business. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to show it off at Atlanta to my pards. So you can be sure I was surprised and extremely happy to find it waiting on my doorstep a few days ago all ready for Atlanta!!! The work he does is simply amazing...it is the most beautiful piece of leatherwork I have ever seen. I appreciate so much all the time and work he puts into his leathers. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a new cap box, cartridge box, etc. Thanks for the great scabbard Nick!

I am also very pleased with his work and comitment to accurate repro's. I called him on tues as I did not want to use my original link strap anymore and he had me a exact repo by friday at the event.

For those that dont know it, Nick has been working on making top notch, researched and documented Federal cavalry gear. He is currently working on turning his patterns into prototypes. Nick's dedication to accuracy is unsurpassed. He has even obtained original tack hardware and is having them accurately reproduced. When they hit the street, his Federal Cavalry gear and tack will be unsurpassed for accuracy. I for one can't wait.

I can highly reccomend Nick,s customer service and extremly high quality leatherwork.
I called Nick 7 days before the Hodge Preservation March to see if he could fit me out with a whole new set of Federal early war accoutrements.

7 days later Nick hand delivered it to me at the event.
I am delighted with the craftsmanship, and the friendly and totally proffessional way Nick conducted our business.

Next time i come over the big pond i,ll have to order some English Enfield leatherwork!

                                Cheers Nick.
