  • CHRISTMAS BULLY BUY! - From Morris Clothiers

    JAMES WILDE JUNIOR GREAT COAT

Contract Great Coat copied from the coat in the William McKinley Museum and Presidential Library. Associated with a Percy Sauers of Co. F, 4th OVI “Canton Zouaves”. The coat is an early war contract by J.W. Jr. & Co.

Morris & Company Historical Clothiers has offered this coat in the past, but not at this price. The coat is predominantly machine sewn with hand sewn button holes. The original had field expedient slashes coat in the front of the coat but hidden by the cape, as make shift hand warmers. These were very crudely sewn, and they have no linings. They are merely there so that you can tuck your hands inside to keep them warm. These slashes can be added to your coat for no extra charge.

The coats will be made with 100% Woolrich Wool, No. 277. This wool, though slightly off in color does match the weight of the original and actually allows the coat to be folded and carried inside your double bag. The lining will be Red Wool Flannel, as per the original. Though wool prices have increased, we will bring this coat to you for $320, including shipping. This offer is good through December 31, 2014.

Re: CHRISTMAS BULLY BUY! - From Morris Clothiers

The one on the left was the 1st ever made, 14 years ago. The 2nd is the original coat, and the 3rd is the inside of the original. As time progresses I will post more images of the original coat here for y'all to see.
