Does anyone know where you can find cases to hold period pictures? I don't remember the correct word for them, but the usually are ornate and open like a book. I've been wanting to buy one. Can anyone give me any info. Its like the picture on post #34 of the cartridges worn on the belt thread. Thanks.

Re: Period photos
Greetings,
They are known as cases...gutta percha being the most common. These can be readily found on Ebay, although sometimes you will have to also buy it with a common image inside. Just type in the search tintype case, ambro case, dag case...Best regards, TomTom "Mingo" Machingo

Re: Period photos
Yeah Pete, but if you buy a case like that, it will take 20 years off the image inside :p
Mama once pleaded with me to never have a picture made like that again. Being a stylish 80 year old bleached blonde at the time, she took offense at having a dowdy looking daughter.............Terre Hood Biederman
