The winner was the same guy who was high bidder on the bogus blanket - he may have gotten lucky here, but somebody who knows overcoats would have to rule. No provenance bugs me..."feels it is period" is not a ringing endorsement. The white top stitiching and buttonhole thread - is that what happens to Logwood when it is completely faded? Also - was it really common to "re-dye" overcoats?
