  • One of the SC Relic Room's Pikes on Youtube

    Good evening friends,

I know it has been a literal "coon's age" since I've posted here, but I found a rather interesting clip tonight on youtube, courtesy of the South Carolina Relic Room and Military Museum, which can't go un-noticed. The clip is about one of the pikes ordered to be made by Georgia Governor Joe Brown, which was originally designed with an "angel blade" system.

At any rate, here is the link. ENJOY!

What a great video--the presenter has such a great sense of humor, too, which would make this enjoyable to watch by other than Civil War historians and buffs.

      Ha!

Thanks for the post on that! The gentleman is Joe Long, Education Curator, at the Relic Room. Joe is a Georgia boy and one of the best speakers of a newer generation of historians.

        Hi,

Cool video!!! I watched the video on the pike, and then the video on the Confederate saber. Both were very interesting. Thanks for posting the video.
