Sometimes the author is above reproach. Shannon Pritchard is the owner of Old South Antiques and the author of the book Collecting the Confederacy. He is one of those people who, if they say it is so, it IS so.
Yes a bait box is mis-identified as a cartridge box in his book, but it would be worth having by any Confederate reenactor who wants to see documented "good" stuff. In quantity and quality it beats EOG. You might want to hit the BACK button at the bottom of the page showing the four button jacket to see the caliber of items that Old South and Mr. Pritchard deal in.
In short, I would trust his evaluation of this jacket without reservation.
