    Re: Boat-howitzer

I don't have any info on a boat-howitzer, but I do have a reprint of a navy manual for the loading and fireing of a heavy 8" ship-mounted gun.

      Re: Boat-howitzer

In looking over my copy of the "Ordinance Instructions for the United States Navy" i found that part II covers the exercises using the boat howitzers. The copy I have only covers the loading and fireing of a 32pdr.Dahlgren smoothbore.I belive you can get the portion you're after by writing to:

      Dept. of the Navy,
      Naval Historical Center
      Washington Navy Yard
      901 M St. S.E.
      Washington D.C. 20074-5060

      I hope this helps...
