  • Manns' patented Knapsacks.

Recently while researching Col. Manns' accoutrements I came upon drawings and descriptions for his knapsack. I gleaned these from the recently released facsimile of his documents prepared in a small bookform. The knapsack does appear to be a standard M55 Knapsack with altered shoulder straps . Actually he says as much in some of his correspondance. As to attaching the back of the knapsack to the waistbelt it allows for more discussion.
Granted, Manns' accoutrements were not used much. Mostly in limited numbers in mid to late 64 and at the end campaign. His patent though is intriguing.
My query then is this. Has anyone actually ever seen a knapsack with Manns modifications? Has anyone ever handled one?

    Thanx ahead of time.
