Gentlemen,
Forgive me if anyone has come across these before; I did a search and the soldier's name did not come up. I currently hail from Oak Park and stumbled upon this remarkable collection of over 200 letters in series from the collection of the Historical Society of Oak Park and River Forest, Illinois:
Stacey was born October 29, 1842 and died December 26, 1863. These letters cover time from August 13, 1862 through December 17, 1863 and includes Harper's Ferry and Gettysburg as well as camps Chase, Douglas and many more. A photo of the writer in uniform is included on the website. Provenance on the letters has also been shared.
I thought this to be very well done and I hope that it comes of use to you.
