    Hi All,

    McDowell Style cap and Other forage cap for CS Soldier.

    A question for those who examined the subject.
    What is the proportion of this style of cap at the privates of the confederacy? On what front and in which unit can we find this style of cap?

    I don't know about the rest of the Confederacy but many soldiers from NC in the early days wore McDowell style caps at the private level. Here are a few from State Troops and Volunteers: a Photograghic Study of NC Troops by Greg Mast. There are many more pics than these in here.
    His 2nd Volume is on the horizon.
