not aware of any rule I may be breaking, but saw this earlier today and thought I'd post it. The stamp is pretty cool....

Bryant, That is nice with the I&C stamp. Check out the awl holes on the back. Looks like it might have been recycled leather.Eric Stephenson

Re: English Ball Bag on Old South Antiques
Bryant, I have view a few originals with the same stamp. I was recently able to view an original waist belt with the same stamp. There is a confederate manufactured cap box in "Collecting the Confederacy" that was made form recycled leather that retains a partial I&C stamp. I think there is also a cartridge box in the same book that has the stamp.
Brian, Thank you, I forgot about the oil pouch.Eric Stephenson

Re: English Ball Bag on Old South Antiques
2 or 3 of the British cartridge boxes at the AHC have that same stamp, and IIRC at least one of their ball bags does too. The ball bag is a nice item, but I'm wondering about the statement that they were issued with Whitworth and Kerr rifles ... is there documentation out there to support that?
