Check with Charile Childs at County Cloth. I think he offers a completed coat and also the kit.

    Thanks.

How does an English great coat look? Or do you mean an US Greatcoat made in England?

        Charles,

My understanding is that they are of dark blue-gray kersey, and were used by the CSA.

Chris Daley makes the CS imported overcoat. It is not inexpensive but it is a really nice coat made of the English Army Cloth and worth every penny. I don't know how he is doing his ordering now that he has moved but you could ask him.

            Re: English greatcoats

Despite the In Stock listing on County Cloth's website, Mr. Childs recently informed me that he is currently out of K1 kersey (English Army Cloth) required for this greatcoat (and Tait Jackets).

I have 1 of Chris's English Army Overcoat. Bought it a year ago last Oct @ Cedar Creek. I paid about $425 or $465 for it. Worth every penny too! Partially machine sewn with hand finished details. I don't know if he has any in stock right now or not. E-mail him for his list of in stock items. His e-mail is:

              tailor@cjdaley.com

If you want some pics PM me and I'll take some for you.

I just checked his website and he is now offering uniform kits for the DIY tailor. His website is:
