Does anyone know what collection is holding, or where I can get more pictures of the Lt John Duncan Holiday Shell Jacket (EoG 146)? It is a curious single button jacket, and I would love to get a more detailed look at it. Thanks...

Re: John Duncan Holiday Jacket
Ken,
The picture credits in the back of EoG lists the jacket as being part of the MoC collection and the MoC's own catalog confirms this.
Hope this helps!Dan Wambaugh

Re: John Duncan Holiday Jacket
It's presently on exhibit there as well. Just saw it a couple of weeks ago. The MOC has vastly improved the number of uniforms displayed to the public since my last time there which was, admittedly, several years ago.Bob Williams

As [one of our cavalry] passed by, the general halted him and inquired "what part of the army he belonged to." "I don't belong to the army, I belong to the cavalry." "That's a fact," says [the general], "you can pass on." Silas Grisamore, 18th Louisiana
