  • Green Percussion Cap Tubes

    Gents,

I am at a loss for finding a reference for using green paper to make percussion cap tubes when bundling cartridges. Makes perfect sense to make the cap casing a different color than the cartridges, but alas I cannot find anything in the US Ordnance Manual, nor in any other source, stating that the cases should be made out of green paper. If someone could point out where I can find this reference, or even an existing picture of a surviving green percussion cap tube, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks,

Original packet-of-12 rolls of caps in my modest collection are wrapped in what looks like plain cartridge paper. Feel alone is necessary to differentiate from cartridges in a packet.
