  • Defarbing quality?

Any thoughts on who does the best job at defarbing an Enfield for Fed. use?

    Thanks for any advice...

    Re: Defarbing quality?

I would say Todd Watts, who (in my opinion) does the best Enfield de-farb period, bar none. In fact, Watts'
work as a gunsmith is very far ahead of whoever is # 2 and he seems to be widening the gap. This is the general
consensus of the authentic community and you can find plenty of examples of his work product on this
site if you use the search function. I think one of them is called "The Monster Todd Watts Enfield Thread" or
    something like that.

I wish a couple of the other gunsmiths and service providers who do Enfields would step up their game a
little bit because Watts has been swamped with work for months. He still has a couple of my muskets
that need special work and I don't know when I will see them again. One thing for sure, never say "Just take your
time, Todd, there is no rush." That is a good way to get your gun back a year from now.

I would second that. Not only does Todd do great work but he his excellent to work with.
