  • Officer's Sack Coat Usage

Is there any evidence of a Federal officer above the rank of captain wearing an officer’s sack coat? I have searched the forums and if it is there I have missed it.

    Thanks for you help.

      Thank you.

I missed that one when I went thru the book. Now would it matter in which theater of operations?

Grant was wearing a sack coat at the Appomatox surrender, not sure if it was an officers sack or an enlisted sack, I'll have to check it out.

As a moderator, I have to point out that the Search function should be your first step.

There are a TON of threads, including many with original images, discussing these coats.

Question asked. Question answered. Thread closed. Let's use that search function next time.

              Thanks!
