Small camp knife

Hi all,

Using it just for those little tasks around camp, maybe keeping it in your pack or haversack, what do you folks think of a Mora knife for those tasks. Probably by refinishing the red handle, and crafting a new sheath for it, but the design has been around for hundreds of years and from what I can find, examples arrived on these shores beginning with the first Swedes who came here. Interested to hear what you all have to say.

For all the work involved trying to make this into a silk purse, you might be better off looking through antique stores for something more of the period.

I dont see any of the work your talking about w/this Mora knife. You wouldn't even need to change the scabboard as it is a period style. Description: #311, blade about 4 3/8" long, and a handle about 4 1/2" long. It also comes with a laminated (carbon)blade, brass fittings and a rosewood handle. The weight with the sheath is about 4 1/4 ounces. $69. Place is: Ragweed Forge in Sanborn, NY
